We used a FLIR thermal camera to test the thermal load on various things in the office and found that IT guys are just as hot as a monitor but not as hot as coffee.

We rarely need this FLIR tool, but occasionally there is networking equipment (switched or access points) that get installed inside the ceiling. It’s interesting to look at a breaker panel as well, the warmer the breaker the more load it’s carrying. By having this tool we know what circuit to plug our equipment into.

I like my IT guys like I like my coffee.
